Zia Mountain Treats

I received my first order, since setting up the blog. I'm still working through the whole pay pal thing but will happily accept checks until I get it figured out. Just email me at address below.

The chill winds hold the promise of more winter-like weather in the next week. I'm afraid I've been a little spoiled by the long pleasant Fall. I will buck up and bundle up. My candy making came about when we first moved away from South Eastern Idaho back in 1975. The move was to an island up in Alaska. It was my first time away from my immediate family. I realized how homesick I was when my normal Christmas "candy-making day" with my sister wasn't going to happen. Although for years I had been the student, with recipes in hand, and a huge homesick hole in my heart, I rallied some of my friends from church and became the teacher. Thus began my career as a candymaker. I certainly don't know all the tricks but I DO know that you get a kitchen full of friends, some butter, sugar and chocolate. . . . you are going to have a great time.
